The Yost Family
Troy and Suzie both grew up in Rigby Idaho. Suzie is the oldest of 9 siblings. Troy is second oldest and is also a twin. We met in high school where Troy was very involved in sports but excelled in football and weight lifting. Suzie was a pro at watching football players, oops I mean games! (no, we were not high school sweethearts!) We did know each other but did not start dating until after Troy graduated in ‘91. Suzie kept busy during high school years with ballroom dancing and working at the local pizza place.
We were married 4 months after Troy came home from serving his mission in Adelaide, Australia. Married life began living in West Jordan, Utah. Suzie worked for Southwest Airlines and Troy for Sierra (hardwood lumber co). Our oldest daughter Brianna was born a short 11 months later. Troy was offered a job with a competitor, National Wood Products, in Las Vegas, Nevada and so after 2 years in Utah, we moved. We lived in Vegas for about 7 years. While there, we added 3 more to our family. Jessica, Ethan, & Zachary.
Troy’s job brought us to sunny California in spring 2005. We love this area and have enjoyed learning about northern California’s rich history. Our family loves to play board games together, going for bike rides and walks, traveling to see family, and swimming.
Brianna turns 13 in June. She loves PGY (Performing Groups for Youth) & Young Women’s and is learning to play the piano. She is very caring and creative with her poetry and drawings.
Jessica is 9. She has spunk to match her red hair, loves horses and is also learning to play piano. She is a confidant and strong young lady.
Ethan will be 6 in a couple of weeks. He is sweet and sensitive and loves to play sports and “hang out” with his dad.
Zachary is 3. All I can say about Zach is that it is a very good thing that he is cute! Because if he wasn’t ?????? Okay, only joking! He is full of energy and adds lots of fun to our family.
We are so grateful to be a part of this ward and for the friendships we have made.
