by Anna Goodwin
Our family was established in 1974 when Dave and Anna Goodwin were married in the Salt Lake Temple. We have six children and six grandchildren (another on the way), three of our children are married and here are their names and their spouse’s names: Robert lives with us, he served a mission in the Japan Tokyo South Mission. Scott and Kristin and their four children live in Delaware where Scott is a lawyer. Christie and Joe Echeverri live in Honolulu, Hawaii where Joe is an architect. Bryce lives in Washington, D.C. where he is working and applying to graduate school. Tiffany and Kyle Larsen and their two children, Ellie and Erik, live with us while Kyle is searching job opportunities and getting ready to apply for a MBA degree. Michelle is a sophomore at BYU majoring in History.
Dave is a mathematical engineer working for a bio-medical company in Rancho Cordova. He has had several careers, including an Army Officer, graduate student in Geography, Economics and Electrical Engineering, as an Economics professor at BYU and in Portland, Oregon, and most recently as a software engineer for Intel.
In the course of 34 years of marriage, we have lived in Utah, California, Arizona, Japan, Washington, Connecticut, and Oregon. Dave is from Southern California and Anna was born in Taiwan but raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil. We are both converts to the church having joined the church while in high school. Dave served a mission in the Japan Tokyo Mission and Anna came to this country as an exchange student from Brazil.
Dave has a love of music, and plays French horn and trumpet. Anna loves to bargain shop and has all of Jane Austen’s movies and books. We especially love to travel in Europe, and visit family and friends around the world. Our family dinner table conversations often revolve around politics, history, world events and church doctrine so that there is never a shortage of lively discussions.
A year ago we moved into this area and became members of the Silva Valley Ward. It has been a privilege to serve and to get to know you and we appreciate your friendship and your example.
